Hello there! My name is Madeline. Many of my close friends know me as Maddie. I was born and raised in Malaysia and I recently moved to Singapore in search of new adventures. I may not be a full-fledge chef, but I do love to indulge in cooking and eating.
My love for cooking developed during my primary school days where I was tasked to cook fragrant white rice for my family daily. I carried out the daily duty with a lot of passion till I was in high school, where I decided to take my skills further. I get my inspiration from online cooking shows and recipe books, which sometimes lead me to being hungry in the middle of the night.
I always find a lot of joy in cooking for others. While I do not have a specific technique, I always like to cook with ingredients that I already have on hand. Sometimes I do cook for others in a certain way that they prefer, but most of the time, the results of the food are usually based on my personal preference. I do encourage you too, to allow your creative juices to flow and make some adjustments to my recipes to suit your own taste.
By now, some of you might have guessed or wonder where the name ‘MadCook’ was derived from. With little detective skills, I’m pretty sure the clues would have pointed you in the direction of my name and/or nickname. And with this blog being a food & recipe blog, I think you would probably have guessed how the other half of ‘MadCook’ came about.
This blog is just to share my recipes and my journey of cooking. I do hope you get inspired to step into the kitchen and cook something for yourself and maybe your loved ones.
